LMT Defense & SWISSLOXX AG Win Swiss Rifle Contract

Featured in:

Probably best known for the iconic M203 40mm grenade launcher, LMT Defense has long been a trusted manufacturer and supplier of small arms for the USA and many specialized units worldwide.

Partnering with SWISSLOXX AG from Switzerland, the company has recently clinched a major deal to provide rifles to the Swiss Armed Forces. The agreement, revealed on February 23, showcases their ability to satisfy the rigorous demands of one of the world’s most discerning militaries.

Central to the contract is the Sturmgewehr 25, a 5.56 x 45 NATO-chambered rifle, which would likely replace some of the current lineup of SIG 550s, 552s, and 553s they currently field.

“It’s a privilege to supply the Swiss Armed Forces with our cutting-edge small arms,” stated Karl Lewis, LMT Defense’s President. “This deal underscores our dedication to excellence and innovation while reinforcing our strong alliance with SWISSLOXX AG.”

While a new military procurement contract is nothing new for the well-seasoned LMT Team, this contract will further solidify their position as one of the primary go-to guys for obtaining military-appropriate small arms. The company has always prioritized rugged durability and long-term performance in its firearms, and I think this is probably something the Swiss Military also prioritizes.

SWISSLOXX AG complements this with its deep knowledge of weapons and equipment procurement, as well as the transportation and importation of arms for various organizations and agencies across Europe, an area typically handled by government bodies in the U.S.

While Swiss military authorities have kept the contract’s financial details and scale under wraps, The LMT press release indicates that experts in the field see it as a major coup for both firms in a crowded international market.

The achievement also hints at a growing partnership between LMT Defense and SWISSLOXX AG, potentially setting the stage for more collaborative projects in Europe. “This goes beyond a simple contract—it’s a landmark in our mission to advance small arms technology,” Lewis remarked in the press release.
